I think there is something to be said about being swallowed whole by a city- it eats us up because we lose touch with being with our friendly neighbor and mom and pop shops- still the city rocks and gives us soul and helps us to divine essence 🙂
This is great. It reminds me of the line in a Bon Iver song, “And at once I knew I was not magnificent.” Cities make me feel that way, and I think this poem really touches on that feeling.
This is exactly how I feel about cities.
